Osaki Electric Co., Ltd. (Tokyo) announced that the OSAKI Group’s targets for reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by FY2030 have been validated by the Science Based Targets initiative*1.

I. Background
The OSAKI Group has been working to reduce GHG emissions in society by providing products and solutions, including its mainstay products, smart meters. At the same time, we have been reducing emissions through our own business activities.
At this time, the OSAKI Group has set more ambitious reduction goals for Scope 1 and 2*2 emissions compared to previous targets. Additionally, the Group has established its first-ever reduction targets for Scope 3 and will accelerate emissions reductions across the entire supply chain.
These targets have been validated as science-based targets to help achieve the Paris Agreement goal of limiting the increase in global average temperature to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels.
II. Validated GHG Reduction Targets (Targets for FY2030)
1) Reduce total Scope1 and 2 GHG emissions by 42% compared with FY2023 levels 2) Reduce Scope3 GHG emissions from purchased goods and services and use of sold products by 25% compared with FY2023 levels |
III. Future Initiatives
In order to achieve the targets, the OSAKI Group will promote activities not only within the Group but also in cooperation with the suppliers across the supply chain.
Additionally, the Group will continue to contribute to the visualization and reduction of customers' GHG emissions by expanding the sales of products and solutions such as "visualization of CO2 emissions," "support for the formulation of CO2 reduction plans," and "support for the implementation of CO2 reduction plans," centered around the energy management system.
